Metonym/Formalist/ilyayavitz/illinois062 006 has once again vanished, not posting for four days. Which means (we all know) that Metonym Ph.D.-to-be (in two years) from the highly esteemed private University of Chicago where he "lectures"... I mean... "teaches"... I mean... is a grad-student t.a.... is likely lurking on these pages with yet another user name (this is the pattern of the last four user-name changes). Which means... THE SEARCH IS ON!!!

Let's make this a contest:
I shall personally purchase anyone over the age of 21 one fine can of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer and deliver it 3rd-class mail to your doorway if YOU can correctly identify Metonym (Ph.D.-to-be)'s new alias. I am also competing in this contest, and I reserve the right to win it. Also... that other Illinois-whatever guy doesn't count... I think he may be a Metonym alter-ego.

Your metonym/(Real Name)formalist/ilyayavitz/illinois06200 6(Name) nominations can be listed below, and I will be the sole judge as to who correctly identifies him. Multiple submissions encouraged.\

What to look for in your Metonym search: verbosity, narcicism, any mention about "teaching" at the University of Chicago, multiple referrals to single diary entries on several unrelated threads.

I admit... a possibility. Although he used the term "stupid". I believe Metonym PhD-to-be would have looked up "stupid" in his pocket-thesaurus he carries around with him and changed to word to a different synonym so that he sounds smarter. You don't have enough evidence yet, but this is a good lead. You should reply to him and say "Private schools are for priviledged rich-daddy's kids." and see what happens. Or... you could bait him with something like, "are you a teacher? You sound like you would make an excellent professor." and see if his narcisistic tendencies take over. If not, you don't have Metonym.

He finally got called out for posting some amazingly offensive stuff about Duckworth, and has been in hiding ever since. I predict a protracted absence...

Oh My God, that is fucking crazy. If I said the shit that "Metonym" said, and I got caught and "outed" (I KNOW he outed himself, repeatedly... on many forums...) I take credit for finding and outing his ilyayavitz on kos, though...

But Oh my god... If I said the shit he said, I'd really be scared. I'd shut the fuck up and drop it. In fact, I'd never post on the blog again. He just keeps going and going and going... it's CRAZY.

I seriously think he's lurking somewhere on here, though.

I am not ashamed of myself, as archpundit lied. and here daniel biss, the man who wanted to gain weight and buy a new car in order to run for congress, is reviving an old and irrelevant discussion i had with someone who desires to invalidate me. i find it all pitiful, and i hope all of you can move on and focus on something more productive. are you bloggers, or are you members of a kindergarten? and do you really view your stupid diaries as important? i hope not.

Ouch. The "we've got a big wireless network in my building" excuse was rich, but not better than the "you should see how much money I give to Democrats!"

Only I did the Opensecrets search, as well as the Illinois state system and there's zero. Not one from him.

Wow, I thought this guy was an arrogant ass when I was debating him, but I was completely unaware that he has parallel identities. Once I look at the evidence though, it becomes pretty clear that this guy is a malevolent influence on the blogosphere. Every thread he makes a post on usually devolves into a bitter arguement between him and someone else. It's like he's some kind of a viral infection, or what Jon Stewart would call a "taint". I'd speculate on what he's posting under now, but I'm still pretty surprised at this information.
